Sometimes it feels like there's nobody more irrelevant than a gay man over 50. Hell, I published a story yesterday about problems getting the Elder Pride Act passed in Congress. I tried to personalize the story by being vulnerable and humble.

But my story is getting a lot less attention than most of my stories. I see a similar phenomenon most times I write about issues particularly impacting older queer people.

I wish more of us could understand that all of us are going to age one day, and that nobody deserves to feel irrelevant just because we have many years behind us.
