Something that might interest people thinking about this is that Facebook algorithms currently penalize Medium articles pretty heavily. Many people have noticed that the situation is getting worse.

Pub owners like me might be able to boost our Facebook promo by using custom domain names. Maybe ... Facebook might be smart enough to figure out what's going on. I don't know how that would work technically.
