Something really exciting for me is the potential for economies of scale in battery production. If we can begin to produce efficient and relatively inexpensive batteries, what other potential do we have for using clean stored energy?

Where I live, lots of Amish farmers use windmills to pump water for their livestock. Could people around here one day hook up windmills like that to super efficient batteries for powering their homes?

We don’t do it now because batteries aren’t very efficient and they’re super expensive. If that changes because of the automotive industry, are we potentially looking at a game changer?
