Something I've found on Facebook, which I don't even use for personal reasons, is that scammers often use the state name in the city. I mean like California City, California or Texas City, Texas – among many others. Combine that with a preternaturally beautiful photo, what sounds like a popular English-rooted American name, but an inability to communicate in natural-sounding colloquial English, and some sort of scam is definitely in the works.
And somebody should tell these scammers that the American military no longer has peacekeeping forces in Syria or Afghanistan. 🤣
