Something else you might like to look into is the very recent Salvation Army policy in the United States forbidding officers from attending same-sex weddings.

These people might like to position themselves as liberal and accepting, but if they forbid senior staff from attending weddings of gay people even in their off hours, then the organization is deeply and unrepentantly homophobic.
