Something else probably worth noting is that, much like on Martin Luther King Day, few workers actually get the day off for Juneteenth. Government workers generally do, and school kids, though most schools are already shut down for the summer by Juneteenth.
I was driving around yesterday, and you'd never have known it was a holiday except for the fact that the mail wasn't running, and who gets U.S. postal mail anymore, anyway?
I didn't see any businesses closed, and I didn't hear about anyone getting the day off.
Of course, not all federal holidays give most people a day off work, but Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the 4th of July see a lot more employer participation than MLK Day or Juneteenth.
Maybe that will change. I hope so.
