Something else I noticed about their editorial is that they very much skimmed over transgender youth issues, noting that those are issues that are up for debate — and from the tone that they took I assume they meant that those issues should be up for debate.
Which probably means they intend to continue centering anti-trans voices on their editorial pages.
The only issue they hit very hard was trans people in the military. I guess that's easy for them. But as an institution, it doesn't look to me like supporting trans people is easy for the New York Times at all.
As strong as their headline is, they appear to be signaling that they intend to continue their anti-trans bias.
