Somebody once wrote that we humans are the sum of the stories we tell ourselves. I think there's a lot of truth to that. We tell stories to make sense of the world, but we also tell stories that create our world.
No, really. Money is "just" a story we tell ourselves. That doesn't make it any less an important part of the world we live in. Love is a story, but it's real too.
So of course the stories we tell overlap and intersect and build on one another and grow and diverge and meet up again. Over and over.
That's as it should be. Our stories reflect us and become us. They are as unique as we are, meaning utterly unique and not at all unique – at the same time.
