Some things are going to get much worse this winter for the UK. A friend of mine who works for a UK energy provider tells me excess capacity on the grid is down to a mere 1.5%. That's compared to something nearing six or seven percent in ordinary times, and it's there to meet periods of excess demand, like winter cold snaps when people need heat.
People are going to lose power this winter when they need it most, and it's because British energy providers can't get enough energy from Europe. Because of Brexit.
But hey, it's all cool right? The chancellor just slashed import duties on champagne. The wealthy can swill that while the poor (meaning just about everybody) eat cardboard cake.
Hip hip.
