So why then are you insisting it's wrong to respect the pronouns trans people use? Your comment above was mean spirited and ugly. It's certainly true that trans people are more than their gender identity, but insisting on treating trans people with public disrespect and cruelty forces them to focus on that identity instead of on living their best lives. If people like you would stop insisting that respect and decency are wrong, then perhaps the rest of us could move on.
