So what do we do to identify and eliminate all the violent cops who have internalized the violent culture that leads to retributive beatings and other mistreatment? I often watch YouTube videos about violent police culture, and new videos come out every day showing cops treating their fellow human beings like animals. Usually, the videos come to light because a civil rights lawyer forced a department or city to release body cam footage. Seeing one of these cops fired or significantly disciplined is extraordinarily rare - even when they're absolute jackasses.

We have to get the jackasses out of police work, but how when departments and unions back them up no matter how terribly they behave?
