So very true, Rachel Williams.

I think sometimes as queer people, we think all our problems are going to be solved when we finally find spaces to exist that are filled with other people like us.

We forget that we’re all human and all vulnerable. We’re all infected with the millions of subtle cues that have filled us with shame or senses of inferiority since we were small children.

Working to be the best people we can be is the challenge of a lifetime. We can be frustrated and embittered by the challenge, or we can rise to it.

Or, more likely, something in between!
