So many men don’t understand this. I didn’t, until a few years ago. I just didn’t know women felt unsafe much of the time. I’m glad women have started to share their stories about that, because it’s important.
By the way, did you hear about the aftermath of this situation in the UK? Crowds of women gathered in London to protest the murder. They were masked and for the most part socially distanced, but crowds of police charged them, threw many of them to the ground, manhandled and brutalized them, and carted them off to jail.
The Metropolitan Police cited covid-19 restrictions for their actions, but failed to explain why they’ve never treated crowds of unmasked, undistanced, male soccer fans with the same kind of violence.
Women are calling on the Home Secretary and police leadership to be sacked, but so far the Tory government shows almost zero interest in holding the police accountable for their violence against women.
