So it would seem.

From the Catholic Catechism:

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.253

It was said to the men of old, “You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.”254

2464 The eighth commandment forbids misrepresenting the truth in our relations with others. This moral prescription flows from the vocation of the holy people to bear witness to their God who is the truth and wills the truth. Offenses against the truth express by word or deed a refusal to commit oneself to moral uprightness: they are fundamental infidelities to God and, in this sense, they undermine the foundations of the covenant.

Seems to me like this purple-robed pompous ass is all about misrepresenting truth. He’s also got a severe problem with the commandment that speaks of loving one’s neighbors.

But then in my personal experience, love is an attribute almost always lacking in Catholic officials. They’re some of the most malignant, hateful people on the planet, as they live their sumptuous lives in medieval-robed splendor, feasting on the generosity of the offerings of their (often poor) congregations, enabling and covering up the abuse of children, while directing Church resources to fight against equal human and civil rights for oppressed people.

The Catholic Church is a snake pit of nauseating evil. And they dare preach about morality. Astonishing.
