So I grew up in conservative circles amongst hunters in rural parts of the United States. I never saw an AR-15 until I joined the military where they call it an M-16 and teach that it exists for the sole purpose of killing human beings.

I live in a rural part of the United States again where hunting is very popular. November is rifle season for deer, and most of my neighbors are out there stocking up their freezers. Know how many of them are harvesting deer with AR-15s?

None.

Why? AR-15s make terrible hunting rifles. They aren’t very accurate at long range. Because they’re designed for killing human beings at closer range, just like in the military.
