So-called "cold readings" have long been understood to be grifts. Cold readers have sat down with journalists to explain how that do it, to demonstrate that nothing psychic is actually happening.

Why am I not surprised that such fraudulent practices continue in the Christian world? I suppose it's because so many religious people, and especially conservative Christians, are predisposed to believe in superstitious nonsense and even conspiracy theory.

I mean, just look at the Noah's Ark "replica" and the creationism "museum." They well demonstrate how howlingly ignorant and superstitious right-wing Christians are.

So of course (to my mind) they accept prophets and psychics as genuine. Their religious-belief system has left them without the ability to engage in critical thinking.
