Sheroes?
A term like that has to signal that your interlocutor isn't locuting in good faith. ;-)
How boring is that kind of interaction? But at least you mined it to write about interesting history. (Or should I say herstory to match the style of your vocabulary challenged commenter?)
You know, the other day President Biden called again for Congress to pass the Equality Act, which would enshrine the civil rights of LGBTQ Americans.
We're not going to be able to get that act passed unless and until both the House and the Senate belong to the Democrats and a Democratic president sits in the White House.
In the meantime, some political leaders have offered up a "compromise" that would allow most Christians to continue discriminating against queer people, and would not offer equality for transgender people.
Unsurprisingly, queer leaders have rejected the so-called compromise. We're just not interested in that weak tea.
But one day, the Equality Act will pass, I believe. Will future armchair historians condemn queer leaders as anti-gay for rejecting a watered down compromise that throws trans people under the bus?
Possibly, but that sort of charge wouldn't make much more sense than condemning Susan B Anthony as racist.
