Seriously? Try being transgender or gay and give that sort of report about accepting, kind Mormons.
Ask pretty much any LGBTQ person on the planet, and they will tell you that Mormons are some of the most hateful, condemnatory, vicious Christians in existence.
Did you see what those violent, homophobic Mormons did at BYU did a couple weeks ago? Gathering in a crowd to spit curses and slurs at queer BYU students and their friends and family members?
You've got a lot of nerve putting yourself on a pedestal over Protestant Christians in general. Your religion is foul and evil with respect to LGBTQ people. The LDS Church's teachings and practices are vicious and cruel. And how about that speech a couple of summers ago at BYU or one of your leaders issued a virtual call to arms? He urge people to take up muskets to fight people like me. Reading that speech is enough to make any decent person recoil in shock. It's that vicious, cruel, and disgusting.
Mainline Protestant denominations, on the other hand, have done a lot to change their teachings and practices in order to affirm LGBTQ people. Some denominations are doing better than others, but virtually all mainline Protestant denominations are lightyears ahead of your cruel, condemnatory church.
Sure, most Evangelical Christians are every bit as judgemental and homophobic as Mormons, but make no mistake, we know Mormons are our enemies and that they hate us. We expect them to treat us like shit, because that's what happens every day.
So you should probably wipe that smirk off your face before you try to talk about how nice Mormons are.
Smiling and pretending to be nice isn't the same as doing good and truly loving your fellow human beings.
