Seems like a crazy question, but I actually had to sneak-read the Narnia series when I was a little kid. My very conservative Christian parents had been taught to believe the series was blasphemous or sacrilegious — despite being an almost exact Christian allegory written by one of the most renowned Christian apologists ever.
It's this same species of conservative Christian now going after Halloween, not able to recognize the symbolism and the allegories, which is I guess pretty much inevitable when you practice a religion that demands literalist interpretation of religious writings, many of which themselves are clearly metaphors or allegories.
