Right? and yet over the internet, progressive people, including progressive LGBTQ people, are counseling me to be kind to Francis, to understand that he wants change but can’t get it done.

As if they have any way to know that, as if all the evidence doesn’t point in the opposite direction.

I am so sick of people tolerating homophobia. I’m sick of their excuses and I’m sick of their accommodation of evil.

Homophobia isn’t perpetuated because of scum like Francis, it’s perpetuated because people who say they are LGBTQ allies put up with his shit.

That document he signed off on is vile hate speech of the worst order, and it’s beyond me why people aren’t exploding in outrage. I kind of thought finally they might.

But nope, it’s just same old accept-the-homophobia status quo.

Want to be exempted from common standards of decency? Be a member of the hierarchy of an old religion that teaches disgustingly evil things.

You get a complete pass.
