Remember when, what was it 10 or 15 years ago, when sociopathy was all the pop psychology rage? Things felt pretty much the way they do today, only with a different psychiatric disorder cited.

My friend the psychiatrist I write about sometimes can get a little annoyed when people talk about narcissism diagnoses. He says most of the time people who get branded in the press as narcissists probably just have bad values. Values they could change if they wanted to.

He says the patients he treats with narcissism personality disorder are in an entirely different class. And the kicker? Some of them manage to behave perfectly decently most of the time, and most amateurs would never ‘diagnose’ them.
