Remember that one time a judge in Virginia quoted the Bible in his decision? To justify felony convictions of a couple who dared marry one another despite that one of them was Black and the other White?

That didn't go over so well. The Supreme Court spanked that judge severely in the landmark Loving v. Virginia case that overturned all laws in the U.S. that forbade mixed-race marriage.

Sadly, I have no confidence that the religious fanatics you make up most of the Supreme Court these days would do something similar.

Alito is probably loving the Bible quoting. Actually, he just whined the other day in a dissent about how "traditional" Christians have to worry about being branded bigots if they discriminate against or otherwise mistreat gay people.

He made it clear he's still anxious to stop same-sex marriage.
