Remarkably well written.

I was nine when my father told me that a boy should not receive potted red flowers for his birthday because it isn’t a boy thing.

He was a good dad, and he didn’t think much about it, and he didn’t mock me for my request just explained it wasn’t a good idea.

He forgot about it. I asked him years later, and he didn’t remember even having the conversation. I remembered it all my life and even wrote a story about it that went kind of viral.

I wasn’t ready for a kid either at 25, but I was at 35, and I think I was a pretty good dad.

I think you probably will be too.
