I published an article last Saturday about schools in Florida declaring that Shakespeare's plays are too "raunchy" for high school students to read in their entirety. That's horrible, but it pales in comparison to turning libraries into punishment rooms.

I haunted my school libraries when I was in school. I can't imagine not having had access to books, which were a refuge and window for me.

I feel so terrible for the students in Houston being denied the joys and benefits of reading.
