Protecting minorities in their legal rights is one of the great strengths of democracy. It's hard to even understand why anyone would think otherwise.

Family structure is not under attack anywhere. These conservatives and clergy members should look around and notice that queer people form families as much as anybody else does. Our families do not harm traditional families or traditional family structure. Anyone paying even the slightest attention would notice that.

People who claim otherwise are either stupid, willfully ignorant, or intentionally deceptive. But ignorance has always been an important tool for fascists and other authoritarians.
