Press reports indicate the grand jury wasn’t even presented charges directly related to Taylor’s death. Louisville prosecutors didn’t even try. They made a decision behind closed doors to indemnify the police for behavior that must be outrageous anywhere but in a police state.

The bald racism of it all is much more than just sad and infuriating. It’s a sickness that our society shows no sign of being able to recover from.
