Perhaps. Francis might actually start by unconditionally apologizing for the actions of the Church in running the residential schools. He has twice refused PM Justin Trudeau's pleas to apologize. I believe that he and Keenan share a basic view -- that the existence of the schools was at least partially morally good, marred only by cases of individual abuse. I believe Francis will not apologize because he does not recognize the truth, that the schools were in and of themselves a great moral evil.
