People who only read headlines are my bêtes noires on Facebook and Twitter when I promote Medium stories.

I work pretty hard to keep my headlines accurate, but it’s frustrating how many people will make assumptions about what I’m writing and feel like they need to comment without reading what I wrote.

I really don’t understand what they think the point of that exercise is.

And that’s not even getting to the trolls! I get those too.
