People should not kid themselves about religious tolerance on the Christian right. While conservative Christians may occasionally find common cause with other people of faith when they agree with them on particular issues, they will turn in a heartbeat. They are not interested in freedom of religion, they are interested in imposing their particular religious beliefs on the nation as a whole.
During the Trump administration, I frequently wrote about his Christian-leader advisors who refused to even acknowledge Islam as a valid religion deserving of freedom under the US Constitution.
And let's not even talk about Hindus or other "polytheists."
