People seem to forget that procedures like this are regulated by professional associations who carefully consider standards of care. Surgeons aren’t just running around doing what 16-year-olds ask them to.

Hell, they aren’t running around doing what 29 year-old-olds ask them to do. I’m sure you could testify as to how much careful gatekeeping (be that for good or ill) goes on in the medical and surgical communities with respect to trans people.

So much opposition is grounded in fear-mongering. As here. People are fiercely objecting to things that don’t even happen in the real world.
