One really quick tip to add to your excellent article about credibility.

While readers and writers are rightfully dubious about Wikipedia as a source, Wikipedia can still be a valuable research tool.

Once you’ve used Google to find out information about what you’re writing about, try Wikipedia to expand your knowledge base.

I don’t mean the Wikipedia articles, which can actually be really valuable giving you a down and dirty overview of the topic. I mean all of the citations at the bottom of the Wikipedia article.

They often lead you to primary sources or reputable journalism about a topic that you probably never would have discovered with Google or Google Scholar.

I’ve only recently discovered how rich Wikipedia citations are. Well with adding to a writer’s bag of tricks!
