One facet of cognitive behavioral therapy that’s very interesting is the intentional usurpation of internal dialogues. People who have suffered trauma learn to create their own dialogues and superimpose them over destructive ones. The theory goes that neural conditioning will eventually “wire down” the new, more healthy thought patterns.
