One could say the same for the United States of course, though the Great Lakes region where I live has been spared the worst of a heating trend.

We had an unusually hot summer, though nothing like the catastrophe out west. Still, temperatures reached almost 30 yesterday which is unheard of for September. Looking at the 10-day forecast, we expect four days of 30 or near-30 temperatures.

Temps like this are not dangerous, and they are not going to disrupt any lives, but for the middle of September in this part of the state, they are more than passing strange.

Cold temperatures normally come early here, and the middle of September is pumpkin, bonfire, and warm-jacket season.

Not this year.
