On a slightly different subject, but very much connected, I was unpleasantly surprised the other day to see Rowling on Twitter publicly embracing and encouraging a woman is who is famous for straight-up homophobia and public slurs against gay people.

Rowling tweeted to express sympathy for the woman's anti-trans views, sending her a ❤️ emoji.

Apparently, animus toward trans people is all it takes to get Rowling on your side, no matter what else you might believe and promote.
