Oh, yeah. A real live friend, Emily Fisher.

He’s a young doctor who finished his residency last year and moved to the Midwest. We were never terribly close — he was more the friend of another friend of mine. But I used to hang out with him sometimes and we stayed in touch on social media after he moved.

He’s a Catholic and he was “shocked” that I would espouse such openly “anti-Catholic views.”

I told him, of course, that I’m not in the least anti-Catholic. I’m 100% anti-homophobic bigotry, and I will never recognize religion as an excuse or justification for homophobic bigotry.

That’s when he told me I was wrong for not respecting people’s faith.

And that’s the moment when in my heart he ceased being my friend.

I won’t be anybody’s “depraved,” “disordered” faggot. That’s what the Catholic Church teaches. That’s some fucked up bullshit. Respect that? Pah. Find me another priest to spit on! lol
