Oh my God, do people really still say that? That was my experience in Baptist churches during my youth, but at least then it was a step up from, "God intends for the races to remain separate, the way he created them."

I can't tell you how many times I heard that racist theology from mainstream Baptist pulpits.

So the sentiment you wrote about (better off with their own kind) was at least, I guess, marginally better. At least it wasn't divinely mandated racism.
