Oh, I don't know. I know plenty of cis/straight people who are completely supportive of queer people and don't have a homophobic bone in their body.
Unfortunately, I know many others who SAY they are not homophobic and who even describe themselves as "allies" but who really are homophobic.
They can't bring themselves, for example, to condemn religious hate speech against us, or even admit that it's hate speech. (Depraved and disordered are such hateful words that it's hard to imagine how these people can survive the cognitive dissonance.) Others get their feathers ruffled if gay people merely exist and show affection to one another in public, around children.
And that's half the battle, isn't it? Convincing people that we are fully and truly equal is a hard battle, and many (but not nearly all!) cis/straight people will not let go of their homophobia.
