What they mean is, "We recognize that many parents consider that gay and transgender people are morally evil, which is what they teach their children, and they don't want our entertainment contradicting those values. So we're going to give those parents what they want."

Of course, the PR people who crafted that statement know what Disney really means. They're doing what PR people do: finding a "softer" way to say something truly horrifying.
