Of all the Clyclades, Santorini offers the most temptation to stay for a very long visit, I think. It's large, large enough to offer visitors almost endless variety. But it's small enough to really get to know well, with people friendly enough that you want to.

And then there's the wine. So many varieties of wine. Too many to leave without tasting more.

The only drawback is that none of this is a secret, so at the wrong times, crowds of tourists can be a bit overwhelming.
