Oddly, while I come from a very large extended family of Irish Catholic heritage, I don't have even a single first cousin who is out as gay or trans. None of their children are out as LGBTQ either. Given my dad's mom had 6 kids and they all had multiple children themselves, I find that extraordinary.

I don't know whether it's a statistical fluke or if it says something about the religion/culture we were raised in.
