Oddly enough, that actually comes very close to physically describing my life. I live in a small cottage way out in the country, and that is how I wake up and start my day, right down to the coffee.

But it’s not idyllic. Yes, I’ve traded the stress of big city life and big bills for a smaller, more personal existence with theoretically fewer worries.

But isn’t the grass always greener somewhere else?

The birds chirp to wake me up in the summer, but winds howl and snow piles up to the eaves in winter.

I don’t have to tussle with crowds of rude people on a commute, but a quiet drink with a friend is hard to come by.

And insecurities and frustrations never seem to disappear, no matter the circumstances.

Of course I understand your point, but I’ll add that sometimes an idealized end game is less than we think. Appreciating and feeling fulfilled in the now is a skill difficult to acquire.
