Now that I'm in my '60s, I find that looking back and reminiscing about my adolescence often means feeling nostalgic (in a positive way) about the more genuine adolescence I had in my twenties, when I actually became free to explore who I was.

I don't have a lot of positive memories of my teenage years, but if I sink into the negativity of all that, what good am I doing for myself?

At least that's what I ask myself.

So I try to focus on all the positive energy and experiences that came after my teenage years.

Of course, I don't always succeed.
