Nothing drives this home for me more than the fact that I've made several comments in the last couple of weeks about "The Closer" and found myself accused of trying to cancel Dave Chappelle, as if objecting to some of the things that he was saying is somehow out of bounds.

I do object to the transphobic effects of his words, and I've said so clearly without malice towards him or any attempt to silence him. Obviously I don't have the power to cancel him even if I wanted to, yet instead of responding substantively to the things I've said, lots of people are just shouting that I'm a woke cancel -culture wannabe. How incredibly boring and completely unhelpful.
