Not at all surprising that members of the American College of Pediatrics misrepresented science. It’s what they do. I’m more than a little surprised that American Journal of Bioethics accepted their letter. Even a cursory reading would have revealed it to be grossly inaccurate.
As more of a “generalist” in LGBTQ issues rather than a trans specialist, even I know, without having to look up the particulars, what the Dutch watchful waiting standard means. I should think a bioethics journal would take more care with the letters they choose to publish.
