Not a bad idea! After all, who really needs large quantities of ammunition? Not hunters.

I don't hunt anymore, but I once bagged a black bear after waiting like 4 years for a coveted bear tag. I used a Winchester 270, single-shot bolt-action rifle, and guess how many rounds I fired?

One.

Okay, well I should probably say 3, because in fairness, I should count the two rounds I used to sight my scope in.

Also in fairness, I probably should have used three rounds to sight in, but what can I say, I'm a crack shot and I'm arrogant about it. Lol

But still, that was the most memorable hunt of my life, and the maximum number of rounds I could have used, in fairness, is four.

Deer hunting is no different. You don't fire multiple times. You get one shot, and if you miss, it's over. Once your rifle fires the first time, every deer in the vicinity vanish like they have genuine magical powers. You've never seen anything like it. Every hunter knows that. You get one shot.

Even when I was actively accompanying my dad on hunts all the time, he never had enough ammunition in the house to raise so much as a glint in a mass shooter's eyes. Because he didn't need that much ammunition. There just isn't any point buying and storing hundreds or even dozens of rounds.

For people who insist they have to do that? I mean, I don't know what to call them other than "gun nuts."
