No, I haven’t, but it sounds like I should. The idea struck me one day as I was reading a report issued by a Catholic agency looking into child sexual abuse.
The clerical authors spent more time writing about consensual sexual activity among adult male staff members at a college in Italy as they did writing about the fact that two staff members were accused of systematically sexually abusing 12 and 13 year old boys at a nearby pre-seminary.
They seemed unable to focus on the child sexual abuse, because they seemed rather more horrified or at least as horrified by consensual homosexual activity.
Reading that report is when I realized they were actually unable to distinguish the moral difference.
