No economist anywhere in the world would disagree with the concept that well-ordered liberal democracies provide the infrastructure necessary for strong economic growth and prosperity.

Don't conservatives push that idea? They used to.

Wasn't I just reading a column in a conservative publication that the United States offers more prosperity to residents than Mexico? Because the United States has more stable government? With public servants who are good at their jobs and cannot be easily bribed?

Aren't fair courts and stable, predictable business environments enforced by non-corrupt public servants critical to prosperity? That's what conservatives teach in business school.

Interesting and tragic to see what the Republican Party is descending to. But then, Donald Trump, the effective leader of the Republicam Party, spent his entire career pushing and profiting from corruption.

So, there's that.
