Interesting that you include Instagram. I might add that some people see Facebook as a dating app, and that I often find that annoying.

I spend a good deal of time promoting writing and otherwise working on Facebook. I belong to several LGBTQ themed groups, most of them of the advocacy/activism variety.

I’ve been astonished by how many guys believe a priori that a gay man on Facebook is there to get a date.

I’m sure I’m only seeing the tip of the iceberg too, given I’m not even looking. I get the distinct impression that it’s a pretty big dating app phenomenon, even if not by design.
