David’s busy writing his stories in Washington Square, but now that he and Richard are closer, tension is building. So is anger. Is David just lashing out? Will his cruel slurs bury a message and ruin a friendship?
Author’s notes:
When I first saw the lobby of the Chrysler building, where David goes to meet his lawyer and Arnold the investigator, I was overwhelmed by the granite-clad decadence of it. I felt as though I were standing in a Romanesque temple designed to intimidate and project power. The experience was almost physically oppressive. It’s beautiful, though.
