My sisters and bothers and I in Act Up learned decades ago that breaking the law is a moral imperative when it comes to the fight to save lives. We desperately fought the US government that reacted to the HIV epidemic with indifference, and the Roman Catholic Church that worked so very hard to stop up from saving lives.

Saving lives is what matters.

There is no moral dilemma there, not as far as I’m concerned.
